Simon Fuller has tapped Janet Scardino to head up global commercial interests for his 19 Entertainment shingle.
Janet Scardino, who was most recently president and chief marketing officer at wedding-centered online business the Knot, will oversee all of 19’s worldwide commercial enterprises. That means working with global brands and bringing them into 19’s TV, digital, mobile and live-event properties.
Scardino will work closely with Fuller, who serves as 19’s founder and CEO, and 19 prexy Robert Dodds.
“We work with some of the biggest brands in the world,” Dodds said. “Janet will be instrumental in developing these relationships and taking a strong lead in new areas.”
Scardino’s resume includes serving as global head of marketing and managing director at Reuters Media. She was also senior VP of international marketing at AOL and managing director at Disney Channel Italy and spent 10 years at MTV.
“American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance” are among 19 Entertainment’s properties; company is also behind HBO’s upcoming “Little Britain USA.”
