Brown joins ABC Family sitcom as female lead

ABC Family has rounded out the cast of its upcoming laffer “Roommates,” triggering a full-fledged series pickup.

Cabler had ordered the show to series, contingent on finding a female lead for the show. That role has been filled by Dorian Brown, whose credits include “Psych,” “Las Vegas” and “NCIS.”

Brown will join a cast that also includes Tyler Francavilla, Tommy Dewey, David Weidoff and Tamera Mowry.

“Roommates,” which has also gone by the title “Roomies,” revolves around pals who move in together post-college. Kieron Quirke and Robin French wrote and exec produce, along with Acme Prods.’ Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis.
