Alternative department boosed by Camacho
Kary McHoul has exited her post as co-head of UTA’s alternative TV department.McHoul, a former programming exec at Fox and E!, joined the tenpercentery this time last year (Daily Variety, June 1). UTA declined comment, but insiders said McHoul made the decision to move on and that the parting was amicable. UTA’s alternative business got a big boost in February when former CAA rep Michael Camacho relocated much of his formidable reality biz to the agency in joining as a partner (Daily Variety, Feb. 7). UTA insiders strongly discounted the industry speculation that McHoul’s departure was prompted by Camacho’s arrival at the agency.
