Longtime agent teams with Greene on venture

Longtime ICM agent Risa Shapiro is leaving the percentery to form a management and production company with Melanie Greene, who runs Melanie Greene Management/Prods.

Shapiro, who began her career at WMA in New York, joined ICM in 1991 and helped build the careers of Jennifer Connelly, David Duchovny and Rosie O’Donnell, repping O’Donnell during her run as syndicated morning TV host.

Her split with the agency was amicable, according to ICM.

“Risa and I have worked together for more than 20 years,” said ICM motion picture talent department head Toni Howard. “This is an exciting opportunity for her, and we all look forward to working with Risa and Melanie in their new partnership.”

Shapiro, who also repped Kevin Zegers, Amber Valletta, Natasha McElhone, Richard Dreyfuss and Andie McDowell, will share some clients with ICM, though she is still working out which clients will join her and Greene in the new company, which will be renamed shortly.
