‘Gary Unmarried’ to tryout Monday

CBS to test comedy after 'Two and a Half Men'

CBS will give “Gary Unmarried” a Monday night tryout next week.

Eye sees promise in the Jay Mohr laffer, and some CBS execs believe the show would do better as part of the net’s more male-centric Monday-night sked.

To test the show’s appeal, CBS will air a repeat of the pilot on Oct. 27 in the plum post-“Two and a Half Men” 9:30 p.m. slot.

That means “Worst Week,” which was set to air a repeat on Monday, will be preempted instead.

Decision to give “Gary” a Monday-night shot, behind a repeat of “Men,” also comes after the show and its Wednesday-night companion, “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” posted season-high numbers this week. ABC Studios and CBS Paramount Network TV are behind “Gary.”
