'Talent' exec producer seals two-year deal
“America’s Got Talent” exec producer James Sunderland has sealed a two-year overall deal with FremantleMedia North America.
Pact is a continuation of his previous deal at the shingle, which produces “Talent” for NBC.
Under terms of the deal, Sunderland will exec produce and act as showrunner on the series for FremantleMedia and also develop original series.
First up, Sunderland is at work exec producing the second half of this season’s “Talent,” which returned to the air Monday after taking a breather during the Summer Olympics. “Talent” will air live for the rest of the season, leading up to its October finale.
This year is the second Sunderland has exec produced “Talent.”
Producer is also busy developing next season’s Osbourne family variety show for Fox, featuring Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne.
Sunderland came to the U.S. following a long run producing and acting as showrunner on hit U.K. series such as “Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway,” “The Royal Variety Performance” and “Dancing on Ice.”
