Fox has given gameshow “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” an order for nine additional episodes.
“Fifth Grader” already had a 13-episode order for fall and now has 22 going forward.
The Jeff Foxworthy-hosted show just finished its second season on July 24 and will start up season three on Sept. 5 with a two-hour special. Series, produced by Mark Burnett Prods. and Zoo Prods., moves to Fridays at 8 p.m. this fall after being a Thursday night staple.
Ratings were strong when the show premiered in February 2007 but tapered off this past spring against some tough competition.
Zoo also announced other series orders, including MTV asking for 20 episodes of “Busted,” which will launch on Aug. 18 with a “sneak peek” and the benefit of “The Hills” as its lead-in. Half-hour series, where lawbreakers must deal with the ramifications of their illegal actions, will normally run at 6 p.m. weeknights.
At TruTV, 26 episodes of “Speeders” and 13 of spinoff “Speeders Fight Back” also have been ordered from Zoo.
In June, Zoo was acquired by U.K. indie TV group All3Media.
