Alison Bossert promoted to senior VP

Alison Bossert has been promoted to senior veep of special events for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.

Members of Bossert’s team have also been upped. Mary Powell, who served as director of special events, has been promoted to executive director, and Dori Golod, who was coordinator of the department, is now manager.

Bossert, who joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1996 as an assistant and rose through the ranks, was most recently veep of special events for CTMPG. Reporting to exec veep of publicity Andre Caraco, Bossert designs and manages more than 30 Columbia Pictures movie premieres, awards-show parties and corporate events and retreats in L.A. and New York each year.

Valerie Van Galder, president of domestic marketing for the Col TriStar Motion Picture Group, praised Bossert for bringing “new-school edge and creativity to old-school motion picture showmanship.” Before joining SPE, Bossert worked as a broadcasting logistics coordinator for the Atlanta Committee for the 1996 Olympic Games.
