Move follows recent integration
Disney Media Networks has announced four new appointments aimed at further strengthening its European management team.
Effective from April, the new exec signings follow February’s Mouse House creation of a European super-group integrating program and channel distribution and new media deals, headed up by Tom Toumazis, exec v.p. and managing director of the newly integrated business.
Catherine Powell has been upped to senior vice president, program distribution, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), North, to power content sales, based out of London, in the U.K., Germany, France, Nordic territories, Israel and Benelux.
Program distribution in southern Europe will be overseen by Francesca Tauriello, promoted to senior vice president, EMEA South.
She will handle key territories including Italy, Spain, Central and Eastern European and be based in Rome.
These two appointments replace Jim Brehm, who is ankling after two years at Disney-ABC International Television.
Seasoned Disney exec Maria Kyriacou is promoted to senior v.p., new media distribution, EMEA and Canada, focusing on platforms such as PC, IPTV and mobile telephony, while Adam Tow has broadened his legal brief, becoming v.p., business and legal affairs, EMEA and Canada.
