Dick Wolf has stated his dual intentions for season eight of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”
Wolf plans to split the 16-episode season between longtime “L&O” denizens Walon Green and Robert Nathan, with Green exec producing eight episodes starring Vincent D’Onofrio and Nathan serving as EP for the eight featuring newcomer Jeff Goldblum, who has replaced Chris Noth.
Together, Green and Nathan will fill the shoes of departed “Criminal Intent” EP Warren Leight, who left the series in June to work on HBO’s “In Treatment.”
For Green’s eight-episode set, Michael Chernuchin will serve as co-EP, while Tim Lea will handle co-EP duties for Nathan’s side of the equation. John Coles is listed as EP-director, overseeing both writing staff and cast.
Production of “Criminal Intent” recently shifted to the new NBC U Cable Studio, headed by USA/Sci Fi topper Bonnie Hammer. The USA Network still has original episodes from “Criminal Intent’s” seventh season in the can and will be airing them Sundays at 9 p.m. through August, leading into new drama “In Plain Sight.”
Lensing for season eight of “Criminal Intent” will begin in August.
