Network orders up series from reality guru

CBS has given a seven-episode commitment to a new reality gamer from “The Bachelor’s” Mike Fleiss.

Untitled project reps the first major series order by new Eye reality chief Jennifer Bresnan, who replaced Ghen Maynard in the summer. Skein will follow a neighborhood of families who compete against each other for a grand prize.

Insiders said CBS quickly stepped up and offered a premium license fee for the show. Casting is under way, but no airdate has been set.

Warner Horizon and Fleiss’ Next Entertainment banner are behind the gamer. Pickup reunites CBS with Fleiss, who last exec produced “The Will” at the net. He also produced specials for the Eye earlier in his career.

Fleiss’ upcoming projects include the CW’s “For Better or Worse,” as well as TV Land’s “The Cougar.” His credits also include “High School Reunion.”
