Tommy Hilfiger and Radical Media have inked a deal with Bravo to broadcast a one-off special based on Hilfiger and George Lois’ book “Iconic America.”
The special, called “Tommy Hilfiger Presents Ironic Iconic America,” is tentatively skedded to air in primetime during the first week in October. Radical will be producing the show.
Rich Kronengold, Radical’s chief marketing officer, said the book itself was a great branding opportunity, and that a TV program, even if it fails, will generate a lot more eyeballs than an exhibit — one of the other options Radical explored when trying to expand the mini-property.
Hilfiger said that, though the show is about America, he wants it to appeal to young people globally, so the co-host of the show will be Israeli model Bar Refaeli, who will share duties with the mono-monickered Rives of “Def Poetry Jam.”
