Network placed on expanded-basic cable

The Big Ten Network (BTN) has landed a carriage deal with Comcast, the largest cable operator in the U.S.

Just in time for the college football season, the deal puts the BTN on the widely circulated expanded-basic service on Comcast systems located in states with Big Ten universities.

Comcast reserves the right to downgrade BTN to the less-desirable digital basic beginning in spring.
