Corporation launches four channels
BBC Worldwide will launch a suite of branded channels in Africa this September via pan-regional satcaster MultiChoice.BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle and children’s channel CBeebies will replace existing nets BBC Food and BBC Prime and will reach more than 1.5 million subscribers across South Africa. “Africa has always been of great importance to us,” said Dean Possenniskie, BBC Worldwide Channels general manager-senior VP Europe Middle East and Africa. The latest launches follow the rollout of all four channels on Poland’s largest satellite platform, Cyfrowy Polsa, in December.
