Sony Pictures TV has promoted Dawn Steinberg to exec VP of talent and casting.
As part of her deal with the studio, Steinberg adds casting for new media to her duties. As talent/casting topper, Steinberg works on all Sony Pictures TV movies, minis and series for network, cable and syndication. She reports to Sony Pictures TV programming/production co-presidents Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht.
“We have won multiple Emmys and Golden Globes because Dawn puts the right actors in the right roles,” Van Amburg said.
At Sony, Steinberg’s recent credits include casting Bryan Cranston in AMC’s “Breaking Bad” and Rose Byrne in FX’s “Damages,” as well as J.B. Smoove in Fox’s “‘Til Death” and Patrick Swayze in A&E’s “The Beast.”
Exec has been with Sony since July 2003, joining as senior VP. Before that, she was at NBC Studios as a casting consultant.
