Marian Koltai-Levine, a 20-year film vet who has overseen marketing of specialty pics including “Before Night Falls” and “Pan’s Labyrinth,” has formed the consultancy MKL Partners.
Koltai-Levine was running the marketing department at Picturehouse when the specialty distrib was shuttered by Time Warner earlier this year. She had been aboard since its 2005 founding, segueing from a comparable role at Fine Line.
New outfit is based in Gotham but will handle clients everywhere. The internationalization of the film biz is a trend MKL hopes to capitalize on given Koltai-Levine’s work on award campaigns and rollout strategies for “Mongol,” “La Vie en rose,” “The Orphanage” and other foreign-language titles.
Before entering the studio world, Koltai-Levine was a publicist at PMK, repping clients in film, TV and theater.
