Mary Mazur has been upped to exec veep and chief content officer at pubcaster KCET.
Mazur had already been the programming czar for KCET as exec veep of programming and production. With the promotion, Mazur will take on oversight of online programming initiatives for one of PBS’ flagship affils, KCET prexy-chief exec Al Jerome said Monday.
Since joining KCET in 1997, Mazur has spearheaded such nationally telecast series as the latenighter “Tavis Smiley,” the Gregory Nava drama skein “American Family” and multipart docus “Woodrow Wilson” and “Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State.”
In addition to Mazur, Bret Marcus was upped from veep to senior veep of programming and production. He’s worked closely with Mazur since joining the station in 2005. He’s the exec producer of KCET’s weekly newsmag “SoCal Connected.”
