Here Films adopts ‘Patrik, Age 1.5’

Regent to distribute Ella Lemhagen film

Here Films has acquired North American distribution rights for “Patrik, Age 1.5,” to be distributed by Regent Releasing in select U.S. cities in summer 2009.

Sweden’s Ella Lemhagen directed and co-wrote the film.

The pic premiered in the U.S. at AFI Fest on Nov. 3. “Patrik” made its world premiere as an official selection at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival.

“Patrik, Age 1.5” tells the story of a married gay couple with hopes of adopting a baby boy. After the adoption agency makes a mistake, a 15-year-old homophobe shows up at their front door.

The acquisition deal was negotiated by Regent VP of acquisitions Quinn Coleman and Ann-Kirstin Westerberg, senior VP, international, for Svensk Filmindustri.
