Warner Bros. has sold the off-net weekend syndication rights to TNT hit “The Closer” to Fox Television Stations.
Ad-supported cable’s highest-rated original series in households and adults 25-54 will debut on Fox stations, including owned-and-operated outlets in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, on weekends starting in fall 2010.
Deal covers the crime procedural’s first four seasons. The second leg of the series’ fourth season picks up Jan. 26, TNT said Thursday.
Meanwhile, NBC U has announced clearances of 92% for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” which is graduating from weekend to Monday-Friday syndication next fall.
“SVU” is currently weekend syndication’s top-rated drama in adults 18-49.
