French, Warner named co-heads of production
ABC Studios continues to keep things within the family, promoting Gary French and Paula Warner to take over as co-heads of production.
They fill the void left when former production topper Barry Jossen was tapped to head up creative at the studio.
French and Warner will continue to serve as senior vice presidents, but as newly anointed department heads they will now report directly to ABC Studios prexy Mark Pedowitz.
Execs will now be charged with overseeing the physical production and post-production of ABC Studios’ primetime and syndie series as well as pilots and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” That tally includes 25 series on six networks.
“Their promotions ensure the continuity of a creative culture that consistently delivers the highest-quality production on television,” Pedowitz said.
French has been with ABC Studios’ production division since 2005. His past stints include production gigs at Universal Network TV and New World Entertainment. He also spent 10 years at Stephen J. Cannell Prods., working on telepics, feature films and series TV.
Warner joined Walt Disney TV 10 years ago, working her way up to running post-production at ABC Studios. As a freelancer, she worked in production and post-production for Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and Universal in addition to Disney.
