Public relations firm seeks urban, Asian expansion

As part of a strategic plan to expand their reach in the entertainment industry, public relations firm 42West is beefing up its marketing and promotions staff in its Los Angeles, New York and Miami offices.

Linda Guerrero will head the new Targeted Entertainment Marketing and Promotions Division, a branch of 42West primarily aimed at Hispanic markets and promotions. Goal is to eventually expand to include urban and Asian niches markets.

Guerrero is joined by five other executives in the division–all of whom have backgrounds in specialized marketing and promotions planning.

Horacio Oyhanarte and Marcela Kartaszewica will serve in Los Angeles as senior account executive and account executive, respectively. Casandra Blanco will work out of Miami as an account executive; Jennifer Wiese and Nicole Vargas will join Guerrero in New York as junior account executives.

Guerrero, who is already working with several film studios on the new project, described the plan as not only targeting a booming population, but one that also provides additional outreach for a cultural group with a lot of influence in the entertainment industry.

“It’s a growing community that contributes greatly to the box office–especially on opening weekend,” Guerrero said.
