Fox makes a double-date with hit action show
Jack Bauer’s long-delayed seventh day finally hits the airwaves with a two-night premiere on Jan. 11-12.Preempted last year by the writers strike, “24” returns for two hours on both nights before settling into its regular time period on Monday, Jan. 19, at 9 p.m. Meanwhile, Fox also announced a December launch for alternative skein “Secret Millionaire,” which bows with a two-hour preem on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m. The RDF USA series, which follows moguls as they go undercover and experience how impoverished folk live, will then air on both Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. the following two weeks, leading to its finale on Thursday, Dec. 18. “Bones” will air on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. those weeks (Dec. 10 and 17), while “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” will air Thursdays at 9 those weeks (Dec. 11 and 18). The fourth hour of “24’s” premiere, on Jan. 12, also doubles as its 150th episode. Viewers also will get an early dose of the 20th Century Fox/Imagine TV skein on Nov. 23, when Fox airs the two-hour telepic “24: Redemption.” It serves as a bridge between season six — which wrapped in May 2007 — and season seven. Fox hasn’t yet officially confirmed whether the Joss Whedon frosh series “Dollhouse” will bow on Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. As originally announced at its May upfront presentation, “Dollhouse” is expected to be paired with “24” on Monday nights starting in January.
