Fundraiser will benefit after-school programs

Paradigm chairman Sam Gores will be feted on Feb. 7 at the fourth annual Peapod Foundation benefit concert, a fund-raiser for the music and arts academy that the Black Eyed Peas have launched at the Watts/Willowbrook Boys & Girls Club.

Peapod Music and Arts Academy opened its doors earlier this month, offering a year-round after-school and weekend program for about 50 kids living in foster care. Facility features state-of-the-art audio and video equipment as well as dance instruction. It’s designed to help kids pursue careers in the entertainment biz.

The academy is funded by the Black Eyed Peas’ Peapod Foundation, which is administered by the Entertainment Industry Foundation. The hip-hop group’s goal is to expand the academy program to other cities around the country. Paradigm reps the group as well as members will.i.am and Fergie.

Peapod Foundation concert at the Avalon in Hollywood will be held as part of Grammy Week festivities leading into the 50th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 10.
