It’s not like “Hannah Montana” needs the publicity.
But Billy Ray Cyrus saw an opportunity to make headlines last week by extending an invitation to the first daughters in waiting, Malia and Sasha Obama, to guest-star on his daughter Miley‘s smash Disney Channel skein. (Word is that the Obama girls are “Hannah” fans.)
Cyrus hinted in an interview with “Access Hollywood” that something was already cooking with the Obamas. But Disney Channel execs made it clear that was the first they’d heard of the idea.
Not that Mouse execs are complaining. They’d be more than happy to host the Obama girls, “as long as their parents say it’s OK,” a Disney Channel rep says.
“Hannah Montana” bowed its third season on Nov. 2, two days before Malia and Sasha’s dad was elected president.
