Clinton speech dredges up memories of 2000
PROMO OF THE WEEK
Democrats certainly haven’t forgotten the 2000 presidential election. But if anyone needed a refresher on those crazy days ahead of HBO’s May 25 airing of “Recount,” the pay cabler had just the ticket.
It set up a dozen voting booths from that Florida contest in New York’s Union Square and L.A.’s Grove shopping center on May 20, giving passers-by a chance to revisit the hanging chad, butterfly ballots and Katherine Harris‘ handiwork.
But the best PR for “Recount” may have come courtesy of Hillary Clinton, who last week dredged up the ghosts of 2000 during a speech to make the case that this year’s Florida and Michigan primary tallies — both in her favor — ought to be counted.
