New company is headed by Carl Pasbjerg, prexy of One Viking, and Frank P. Scardino, topper of TPG. Duo said the merger will allow them to expand their business in a way that would not be possible if the shingles remained separate.
Alchemy will start out with an office of about five staffers in the midtown Gotham space currently occupied by TPG.
“This presents an opportunity to take on more projects and still give our clients attentive service,” said Scardino, whose list of Rialto management credits includes “The Pirate Queen,” “Fosse” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
“It’s a growth opportunity for both of us,” added Pasbjerg, who was exec producer of the Vegas production of “The Phantom of the Opera.” One Viking is an associate producer on “Young Frankenstein.”
Upcoming Broadway projects for Alchemy include the spring revival of “Guys and Dolls” and the Roundabout’s co-production of “Dancin’,” as well as Rialto candidate “Memphis,” currently playing in San Diego.
Company is also exploring a potential role as a consultant on legit projects in China. Alchemy aims to grow its biz in international markets, as well as on Broadway, with touring shows and Vegas productions.
