‘Spamalot’s’ spike jumpstarts sales

NEW YORK The road pulled up 5.4%, or $655,522, in Week 47 (April 14-20) — slightly less than what the returning “High School Musical” brought the 12-show slate after its layoff week. The total gross was $12, 853,542.

Most shows stayed about even or had minor fluctuations, with one notable exception: “Monty Python’s Spamalot” jumped almost $400,000 moving into its new venue in Raleigh, N.C. In other North Carolina news, “Wicked” broke its house record in Charlotte this week.

For the second week in a row, “Jersey Boys” did the same in Minneapolis. This week, it grossed higher than any other
