Lynn Redgrave is set for a stint on the Jersey stage, with the thesp signed to appear in the Paper Mill Playhouse’s winter production of “The Importance of Being Earnest.”
Redgrave will play Lady Bracknell, the upper-class dame with a secret, in Oscar Wilde’s Victorian comedy.
Actress was last on Broadway in 2006, when she was nommed for a Tony for her perf in “The Constant Wife.”
Casting of Redgrave reps another step in an attempted rebound for Paper Mill Playhouse, which last season emerged from a period of financial turmoil. Theater is producing the legit version of Disney’s ultra-popular “High School Musical.”
David Schweizer helms “Earnest,” running Jan. 14-Feb. 15. No further casting has been announced.
