New tuner “Imagine This,” about a group of actors in the Warsaw ghetto in 1942, will preem in London this fall.
An earlier version of the musical was originally set to bow in Chicago in 2004 under the title “Masada,” but that run was scrapped.
Composer Shuki Levy, best known for his scores for children’s TV programs including “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers” and “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” writes the music, with book and lyrics by Glenn Berenbeim and David Goldsmith.
Timothy Sheader — who was attached to the earlier, scuttled tryout — directs the show, which tries out in Plymouth, England, in July before beginning perfs at the New London Theater Nov. 4. Press opening is Nov. 19.
