Mark Wendland, Katrina Lindsay and Donald Holder are among the winners of the 44th annual Henry Hewes Design Awards.
Set designer Wendland picked up the laurel for three shows from the past season, “Next to Normal” at Second Stage, “Richard III” at Classic Stage Company and “Unconditional” from LAByrinth Theater Company.
Lighting designer Holder won for “Cyrano de Bergerac,” “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” and “South Pacific” (all three on Broadway), while costumer Lindsay scored for “Liaisons.”
Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg took the prize for notable effect (projection design), nabbing the honor for the elaborate animated projections of “The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island” at the Vineyard Theater.
Presented by Scott Pask, Clint Ramos, Natasha Katz and Kevin Cunningham — all of whom were 2007 recipients — the Hewes awards will be presented Dec. 12 at Sardi’s.
