Daniel Sullivan gets set for Seattle

Theater director named artistic consultant

Helmer Daniel Sullivan (“The Homecoming,” “Proof”) has been brought onboard as an artistic consultant to plan the 2009-10 season at Seattle Repertory Theater.

He joins acting a.d. Jerry Manning in taking on the programming chores. Manning was appointed to the a.d. role in the wake of the announcement that David Esbjornson would leave the post at the end of the 2008-09 season.

Sullivan is fresh off a season during which he served as acting a.d. at Manhattan Theater Club, where he filled in for Lynn Meadow while she was on sabbatical. Currently directing Charlayne Woodard’s “The Night Watcher” at the Rep, he was a.d. at the Seattle theater from 1981-1997.
