The latest legit offering from downtown darlings Les Freres Corbusier, “Dance Dance Revolution,” will preem at Off Off Broadway’s Ohio Theater in December.
Set in a dystopian future, the comedy follows the arrival of a funky prophet in a world where dance is forbidden. Inspirations cited include “Footloose,” “Rollerball,” Japanese rave music and the popular vidgame of the title. Les Freres a.d. Alex Timers (“The Language of Trees”) directs the show, which has music by Gary Adler (“Altar Boyz”) and Phoebe Kreutz. Prior Les Freres shows include “Heddatron” and “A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant.” “Dance Dance” runs Dec. 3-20.
