Canadian Opera Company finds g.m.

Neef appointed to top post

The Canadian Opera Company has ended its international search for a new general manager, announcing on Wednesday the appointment of 34-year-old, German-born Alexander Neef, currently director of casting at the Opera National de Paris.

The post has been vacant since Richard Bradshaw died of a heart attack in August.

The Canadian Opera Company recently moved into a new home at Toronto’s Four Seasons Center for the Performing Arts, registering an impressive 99% attendance record for the past season. Neef will assume his post Oct. 1.
