NEW YORK The road grosses stayed almost perfectly level, gaining less than a quarter of a percentage point in Week 40 (Feb. 25-March 2), for a combined gross of $13,743,945.

A few shows saw an uptick, notably “Monty Python’s Spamalot,” which moved into a much smaller venue but still posted a gain, and “Jersey Boys” in Tampa, Fla., which shot up more than $170,000 and landed in the top slot of highest-grossing show.

“Wicked” continued to fall in Los Angeles but broke its own house record in Cleveland yet again, and “Mamma Mia!” left more than $200,000 behind in Motown when it moved, oddly, to a larger venue in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The road continues to outstrip the previous year’s gains by a considerable margin, with an average of more than a million dollars per show during this frame, thanks mostly to the the powerhouse perfs of several successful musicals.
