Polly Cochrane moves from Channel 4

LONDON — Warner Bros U.K. has tapped marketing topper Polly Cochrane, who recently announced her decision to quit Channel 4 where she has worked for a decade.

Cochrane will join Warner Bros U.K. next April as VP and group marketing director, reporting to Josh Berger, prexy and managing director of WBUK.

She will work across all WBUK’s operating divisions — WB Pictures International, Warner Home Video, WB International Television Distribution, WB Digital Distribution, WB Interactive Entertainment and WB Consumer Products.

She will also join the U.K. company’s executive board and manage a team of 44 staff, encompassing consumer and business-to-business marketing, media and planning, publicity and promotions, and creative services and research.

At Channel 4, Cochrane masterminded marketing campaigns for, among others, the launch of digital spin-off channels More4, E4 and Film4 free to air.

Her decision to exit the web was seen as a blow to the broadcaster and came as it announced a program of cuts due to the advertising downturn.

Prior to working at Channel 4, Cochrane was head of advertising and promotions at rival U.K. web Five.
