Universal Pictures has elevated Jeffrey Goore to head the studio’s biz affairs department and added two senior veeps, Jon Gibson and Helen Jorda, to its ranks.
Goore, who gained his exec VP stripes with the promotion, is stepping into the post held by Jimmy Horowitz prior to his promotion to co-prexy of production. Goore has worked for the department for 10 years, joining as a VP and upped to senior VP in 2002.
Exec has worked on various projects for the studio, including the “Bourne” trilogy, “Fast and the Furious” films and “Knocked Up.”
Gibson previously served as a business affairs consultant for Legendary Pictures, and before that was senior VP of biz affairs for Columbia. Earlier, he served as counsel to De Laurentiis Entertainment Group and Embassy Pictures.
Jorda joins the team after a decade as senior VP of biz and legal affairs at the studio’s consumer products group. Previously, she was a VP of MGM’s legal division.
