Tribeca undergoes minor makeover

Fest reshuffles venues, adds ticket packages

The Tribeca Film Festival is reshuffling its venues and introducing new ticketing packages.

The lower Manhattan hub will host the fest’s free public events, like the Tribeca Drive-In at the World Financial Center, and further events at BMCC TribecaPAC, Pace U., and, of course, Tribeca Cinemas.

The second hub will be in the Union Square area, where three local multiplexes will host premieres and screenings. AMC theaters at 11th Street and 3rd and at 19th Street and Broadway will be two of the venues; the third is City Cinema Village East at 12th and 2nd. The Filmmaker Industry Press Lounge will be housed in Union Square.

The fest has a variety of new ticketing packages for the ’08 edition. The feature film ticket packs range from $64 to $125 and highlight the competition, foreign language, and docu sections of the fest, as well as separate packs for the ESPN Sports Film subfest and for various screening times. The fest will continue to offer early selection tix packages and the Hudson Pass, good for all screenings and panels.

Tickets to individual evening and weekend screenings are $15, daytime weekday and latenight are $8. The fest runs April 23 to May 4.
