Toronto taps two for Sprockets

Festival appoints duo as co-directors

TORONTO — The Toronto Intl. Film Festival Group Tuesday appointed staffers Allen Braude and Elizabeth Muskala as co-directors of learning, responsible for helming the Sprockets Toronto Film Festival for Children, which runs April 11-18.

Braude previously ran Sprockets’ year-round Globetrotter series and TIFF’s Dialogues program, while Muskala was a TIFF program administrator.

The pair also will develop and oversee family and youth programs for Bell Lightbox, TIFF Group’s future home, now under construction in Toronto. Braude begins work immediately; Muskala starts after the next Toronto fest.

Former Sprockets director Jane Schoettle, who resigned in December, is now chief buyer for TIFF Group’s John VanDuzer Children’s Film Collection and a TIFF international programmer.
