Student's drama tops Stolen Dreams contest

Short film “The Cure” has been named the winner of the AARP and UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television Stolen Dreams competition.

Written and helmed by UCLA grad student Anthony Onah, who also received $7,500, the film involves a single mother whose son is injured in an accident that leads to both mother and son being pulled into a medical insurance nightmare.

“The Cure” competed against three other UCLA graduate student films: “After the Shearing,” “Side Effects” and “Sneeze.”
