SXSW unveils full slate of panels

Fest sets face time with Thornton, Yoakam

The South by Southwest Film Conference & Festival has unveiled its complete slate of panels and workshops, which include “A Conversation With Billy Bob Thornton & Dwight Yoakam.”

Other panels in the confab’s lineup include “Coming Soon: The Making of a Trailer,” “An Actor’s Workshop With Jeffrey Tambor,” “Drugs, Politics and Race: A ‘Harold & Kumar’ Panel” and “What the Writers Strike Taught Us.”

These panels join already announced highlights such as “A Conversation With Harlan Ellison,” “Stanley Nelson: History in the Making” and “A Conversation With Helen Hunt.” SXSW will close with “A Conversation With Moby,” in which BMI’s Doreen Ringer-Ross will interview the musician-film composer.

SXSW also will debut Global Doc Days, an event built around programming by various international film organizations that will showcase documentaries from Mexico, Canada, Norway and China.

The 15th annual edition of SXSW takes place March 8-11 in Austin, Texas.
