Distributor takes U.S. rights

Strand Releasing has grabbed U.S. rights to one of the best-received pics on the fest circuit, Terence Davies’ “Of Time and the City.”

A January 2009 launch is planned, following on the pic’s October U.K. rollout.

Hurricane Films’ memoir-doc was repped by sales agent Hanway Films.

The poetic ode to Liverpool, which is built from archival footage and narrated by Davies himself, had its world preem in Cannes.

“Time” has its North American bow Sunday in Toronto.

Strand had distribbed Davies’ “The Neon Bible” and had homevid of his “Trilogy.”
