Rogen named ShoWest Comedy Star

Actor/producer to be honored closing night

Seth Rogen has been named ShoWest Comedy Star of the Year for performance in raunchy comedy box office hits including “Superbad” and “Knocked Up.”

He will receive the award at next week’s ShoWest exhib confab in Las Vegas.

Rogen is next in theaters with “Pineapple Express,” which Columbia Pictures opens Aug. 8. In addition to starring in the laffer, he co-wrote and exec produced. He also co-wrote and exec produced “Superbad.”

“In the world of comedy, Seth Rogen has pulled off an incredible hat trick — not only is he an incredibly funny and talented comedic actor, but his ability to write comedy and put it all together on screen as a producer is incomparable,” said ShoWest co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser.

Rogen will be presented with the award at ShoWest’s closing night banquet on March 13.
