Films will be available for free, beginning Monday

Hindi production-distribution house Rajshri is expanding the films it offers free online to Tamil pics beginning Monday, to tie in with the South Indian harvest festival.

Rajjat Barjatya, managing director of the family-owned Rajshri Films, said select Tamil clips will be available but did not reveal any film titles.

“On this festive occasion, we are delighted to announce the launch of our Tamil channel, featuring the choicest selection of films, TV shows, music and more,” he said in a statement.

Rajshri.com already offers the animated Tamil “Granny’s Tales — Noah’s Ark.” The 30-minute episode costs $4.50 to download.

The portal offers Hindi and Marathi titles from its catalog as well as a few from other distribs, plus some episodes of popular shows such as “Kahani ghar ghar ki” and “Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi.”
