Paramount promotes Marty Cohen

Exec named president of post-production

Paramount Pictures has upped Marty Cohen to president of post-production.

Cohen will oversee all aspects of feature post-production, including editorial, sound design, digital intermediates and piracy protection for all the studio’s releases.

He joined Par in December 2005 as exec VP of post-production and has managed post-production on films including “Mission: Impossible 3,” “Cloverfield” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” He also supervised the most recent restoration of Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather” trilogy, which was re-released in September.

Paramount Film Group prexy John Lesher said Cohen’s “experience exploring cutting-edge technologies, including digital restoration and 3-D, will be valuable as he supervises post-production for our upcoming films ‘Star Trek’ … and ‘Shutter Island.’”

Cohen segued to the Melrose studio after serving as head of post-production at DreamWorks since the company’s inception in 1994.
