Story centers on a couple who get lost on a haunted road in the Australian Outback and spend the night fighting for their lives.
Pic begins shooting in Oz this summer.
“Drive the Night” is a collaboration between Myriad and comicbook publisher Studio 407 as part of deal announced earlier this year. Studio 407 is determining a release plan for the comicbook version of the property.
Bennett’s credits include “Backlash,” which played Cannes’ Un Certain Regard in 1986. He produced and directed “Kiss or Kill” and earned Australian Film Institute Awards including picture and director. He also directed romantic comedy “Two If by Sea.”
Myriad and the Weinstein Co. bow Dario Argento’s “Mother of Tears,” starring Asia Argento and Udo Kier, in limited release in the U.S. on June 6.
