Media Asia makes deals at Cannes

KSM, ARP takes 'Warlords;' 'Sniper' to S. Korea

“Infernal Affairs” financier Media Asia has signed a string of sales deals on its Cannes titles.

List is headed by sale of period epic “Warlords” to Germany’s KSM and to France’s ARP. Starring Andy Lau, Jet Li and Takeshi Kaneshiro, pic was a smash in Greater Chinese territories last year.

Ricky Tse, Media Asia’s head of international, said further deals will close with distribs in Russia, Latin American and India by the end of the Cannes market.

Edison Chen starrer “Sniper” was licensed to Vietnam’s DHD and South Korea’s Mediasoft Films. “Lady Cop and Papa Crook” found homes in Malaysia with DHD and with Golden Screen Cinemas, respectively. Golden Screen also bought the company’s “Assassins.”
