Exec to head development at Disney unit

Mandeville Films has tapped David Manpearl as VP of development at the Disney-based shingle, which recently produced “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” for the Mouse House and “Traitor” for Overture Films.

Manpearl will work with Albert Page to oversee the development slate for the company run by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman.

He reports to the two execs.

Manpearl recently sold an untitled sci-fi pitch with Matt Cirulnick to Legendary Pictures.

Before that, he served as VP at McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision, where he co-produced “Stay Alive” and was an exec producer on “Elysium” at New Regency. He also helped develop the Fox series “The O.C.” while there.

Mandeville is currently wrapping up the Bruce Willis thriller “The Surrogates” and Sandra Bullock romcom “The Proposal” at Disney, and is prepping “The Fighter” at Paramount.

On the TV front, it also produces “Monk” on USA Network.
