Lionsgate has tapped Lisa Ellzey exec VP of motion picture production as part of its efforts to broaden the banner’s offerings.
The veteran executive, who most recently served as exec VP of production at Fox, will report to Lionsgate production prexy Mike Paseornek.
Senior VP John Sacchi will continue to report to Paseornek.
Lionsgate has been ramping up film operations since hiring Mandate topper Joe Drake as co-chief operating officer and president of its motion picture group last fall.
Ellzey exec produced “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” after leaving Fox last year.
Prior to joining Fox, Ellzey was president of Scott Free Entertainment and produced “In Her Shoes” and exec produced “A Good Year,” “Kingdom of Heaven” and “Domino.” Ellzey has also been president of Sonnenfeld/Josephson and VP of Red Wagon Prods.
Lionsgate has also been expanding in new media. It’s partnered on the Fearnet channel with Sony and Comcast and announced last week that it had pacted with YouTube to make excerpts from several hundred of its film and TV productions available on a branded YouTube channel.
