Director set for 'La Guerre des Miss'
French helmer Patrice Leconte’s next project will be the comedy “La Guerre des Miss,” which begins shooting March 25 in the mountains of the Franche-Comte region in eastern France.
Produced by Gaumont’s Franck Chorot, pic is about a ski resort village determined to get back on the sporting tourism map by besting a neighboring hamlet that mysteriously keeps grinding out champions.
Belgian comic Benoit Poelvoorde (“Asterix at the Olympic Games”) will topline a cast including Olivia Bonamy (“Them”) and Laurent Gamelon (“The Valet”).
Release date is set for Jan. 7.
Leconte helmed one of France’s biggest local hits, 2006 laffer “Les Bronzes 3: Amis pour la vie” (“Friends Forever”) which grossed more than $81 million in France.
