Helmer Joel Hopkins’ pic “Last Chance Harvey” will open the 20th annual Palm Springs Film Festival Jan. 8 at Palm Springs High School.
The opening night gala includes a reception at the Palm Springs Art Museum. “Harvey” stars Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. Both received Golden Globe noms for their performances in the film. Fest announced a roster of 210 films from 73 countries that will screen at the event’s 2009 edition, which runs Jan. 8-19.
